Volunteer Opportunities

 

 


Keep Morristown Hamblen Beautiful, Inc. is an organization that counts on volunteers to make our programs happen. We need volunteers to serve on our board as well as help coordinate and carry out programs. Please review the opportunities below and contact Kelli if you are able to assist in any of these areas:

Board of Directors: (All Year) Our board of directors oversee's our mission, sets goals, determines policy, implements programs and evaluates them, ensures national KAB requirements are met, continues to broaden base of community support, function by by-laws of organization, and much more. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings, pay membership dues, attend board training events, agree to serve on 2 committees, and assist with annual fundraiser, Litter Index, and Great American Clean-Up.

Household Hazardous Waste: (April) Volunteers are needed to help direct traffic, get items out of cars for residents, answer questions and distribute information.

Power Clean-Up: (March) Many volunteers are needed to volunteer for specific clean-up sites around Hamblen, Jefferson, Grainger, and Hawkins Counties.

Great American Clean-Up: (March - May) Many volunteers again are needed to do street clean-ups, beautification projects, plant trees, and remove graffiti.

Litter Index: (February) Volunteers will drive around designated area and rate the litter in that area to create a score. Training is provided.

Fundraiser: (June) Everything! Where you are gifted we will use you.

Christmas Tree Recycling: (February) TWRA will need assistance in going on Cherokee lake to actually sink the trees to make fish habitats.

Keep America Beautiful/Youth Advisory Board: (August - May) Volunteers are needed to help with monthly meeting, clean-up and beautification projects and fundraiser.
